Confidence

“Stay afraid, but do it anyway. What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually, the confidence will follow.” - Carrie Fisher

Be Yourself and Be Confident
Be Yourself and Be Confident

I have recently started a new job and I have not had the highest confidence in the world for it as I am scared of it and the new journey. It is completely new from what I have done in the past.

A short time ago, I became employed as a Pharm Tech at a great company! It is definitely a new adventure for me as I have only taken medication the pharmacy has given, I have never counted or distributed medication to other people. So with that, comes A LOT of learning. I have a great boss and coworker that are showing me the ropes of the “backside” of the pharmacy. I am so thankful for their patience and kindness as I learn all of these new things and the system.

And let me tell you what, thank your pharmacist and pharmacy technicians.  They do soooo much!

I am so thankful for God and His timing. I wasn’t even really looking for a job at the time. I was but I was also trying to have patience for another banking job at a great local and agriculturally based bank. They were building a new location and I was going to wait for it but I also didn't want to go back into the finance world with all the stress. I got on the company’s website to see how to get into their portal and happened to look at their careers site to see if there was anything close by. Turns out, they were hiring for a pharmacy tech and I LOVE my pharmacist and the techs that were there. So I applied. Got a phone call to come in for an interview the next day. I knew it had to be a great sign from God if things were happening this quickly. I trust that this is His will for me and my life to be able to honor Him and his works through me.

If you know me then you know that I do not have a shortness of confidence. Usually, when I walk into a room, I make my presence known and memorable. I love the quote above from Carrie Fisher. I have “Just do it and eventually, the confidence will follow” on a sticky note in my workstation area so that I can remember to just do the task, ask the questions, do the work, and then the confidence will build on what I am doing at my job and at life.

After all the medical things that I have been through, it has been hard to build my confidence back to what it was before because I was so much more then. I conquered a life change and lost confidence but also built some in areas that I didn't have before.

Until Next time,

Keep smiling and love like Jesus.
